THE SECRET WORD LOOP
In the famous Wordle game, every day, the players from all over the world try to guess a new “secret” five-letter word within several attempts. Yet in its Russian version, the game always starts with the word “Putin,” and the secret word is “voina” at every turn. The idea came to me after detentions for picket signs with the secret inscription “*** *****” (“net voine,” “no to war”) started taking place in Russia. This reminds me of a dystopian version of encrypted tables containing the answers, which Wordle players share on Twitter: you cannot see the words, just the squares.
